American Circus Educators Conference seeks workshop presenters

American Circus Educators Association is seeking workshop leaders and presenters for their 2016 Educators Conference, October 6-10 in San Francisco, California. The conference will be hosted by the Circus Center, in collaboration with AcroSports.

The Conference seeks applications for practical, physical, theoretical, or praxis workshops and presentations addressed to the many realities of circus educators and administrators. Youth and/or adult educators, circus program owners, social circus practitioners, administrators, and researchers are encouraged to apply to speak on any of the following topics:

  • Topics for directors, managers, and owners (i.e. marketing, fundraising, best practices)
  • Social/Adaptive circus (models, research, demonstrations)
  • Teaching and training (demonstrations, research, practice, spotting)
  • Guided physical play
  • Humor in circus teaching

Reminder: Director’s Lab West applications closing soon

The application window for Directors Lab West 2016 conference closes next Friday, February 26. Director’s Lab West (in association with the Pasadena Playhouse and the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society) brings together dedicated emerging and mid-career theatre directors and choreographers with master artists for an eight-day intensive, enabling them to inspire each other to dream and create the future of the American Theatre.

This year’s intensive runs Saturday, May 21 through Saturday, May 28 at the Pasadena Playhouse and other theaters in and around Los Angeles, California. If accepted, participation in Director’s Lab West is free of charge. Applications must be received by Friday, February 26 at 5:00 p.m.
